Monique Belusa feels blessed to be making her debut in NovAntiqua where she met some of her fellow performers through John Bisceglie’s production of Sondheim in Concert and Cole Porter last year. Monique’s choral background started as a child where she was professionally trained with the Cleveland Orchestra Children’s Chorus in Ohio. Upon returning to California, she studied opera for twenty plus years with retired opera singer Louise Corsale. For seventeen years, she shared her singing ministry as Cantor for St. Monica church in Moraga. She lead music and engaged the assembly in song during Sunday Masses, weddings and funerals. She also participated with the choir for their special masses such as Christmas and Easter. Monique has performed in many shows throughout the years but most recently appeared in Brigadoon, Follies Brassiere and received a Shellie nomination as outstanding actress for her role as Ginger Brooks in The 1940’s Radio Hour. Over the years, she has performed professionally with various venues and during the holidays sings with The Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers. None of this could be possible without her loving family’s support.
